Folksy issues 16:15

Hi — we’re having some performance/availability issues. This is due to a caching service we use being down. We’ve raised an urgent ticket with their support people, and will let you know as soon is it is resolved.
In the meantime, we’re sorry about the inconvenience.

Some people seeing intermittent errors

Hi — we’re aware that some people are seeing intermittent errors across the site.
We’re currently investigating, and also working on updating some aspects of our infrastructure that may be associated with the errors.

Some versions of Firefox showing a certificate untrusted error

Hi — some versions of Firefox are showing an untrusted certificate error for Folksy.

We are currently looking into this with our certificate issuer, and will get it fixed as soon as possible.

It is likely that fixing this issue will involve reissuing the certificate, which could take up to a day or so — we’ll keep you posted as to progress.

In the meantime, sorry for any inconvenience this causes.

Folksy erroring for 30 seconds, just now

Hi — sorry, Folksy was throwing an error for 30 seconds, there, due to a bad deploy.

We rolled back right away, and are fixing the cause of the issue, now.

Folksy down for 5-10 minutes

Hi — as you may have noticed, we just had an issue that took the site down for a short while.

This was due to the log server going down. We were quickly able to rebuild and replace the logserver, and are currently looking into why its failure was so catastrophic (it shouldn’t have been).

This happened after a short period of there being issues with the image server, which we believe was an unrelated incident.

We’re really sorry for any inconvenience caused, and are looking into how to avoid this issue again.
