Image service cache restarted

Hi — we’ve deployed the changes to the image service, restarted the cache, and provisioned a whole load of extra servers to help rebuild the cache, and it all seems to be progressing well.

Naturally, we’ll be keeping an eye on things, but for now, it’s looking good and done and dusted.

Cheers,

   Doug.

Restarting the image server cache at 07:30

Hi — we’ve tweaked some of the image service settings, and will need to restart the cache at 7:30.

This shouldn’t really affect anyone, but is a headsup just in case any of you all do see any momentary slowness on the image service.

Thanks,

   Doug.

Restarting the images cache

Hi — we’ve had to make some changes to the image service, again, and have deployed these, but we’ll need to restart the cache for them to take effect.

Usually this is a pretty fast process, with absolutely minimal disruption, but we thought we’d best give you a headsup in case there is any latency on images for a while.

Thanks,

   Doug.

Update on the deploy of the image service cache changes

Hi — just to let you know that we’re going to be swapping images from the old cache to the new one gradually, over a course of time.

We’ll be starting this process very early tomorrow morning, and hopefully nobody will even notice it’s happening. 🙂

Thanks again for your patience whilst we upgrade our systems.

Image service cache restarted & rebuilding

Hi — just to let you know that the restart happened pretty quickly, and the cache is rebuilding nicely, so that all looks good.

Thanks again for bearing with us. I’m going to go sleep, now, so I’ll wish you goodnight & happy browsing! 🙂

Restarting the image server cache

Hi — just to let you know that we’re about to restart the image server cache.

It shouldn’t impact too much, especially at this hour, but may mean that images may fail to load (or be created on listing) for up to 5 minutes.

We’re starting it, now, and will let you know how we get on.

In the meantime, sorry for any inconvenience, and thanks for bearing with us.

Rebooting the image cache, could be around 5 minutes

Hi — we need to reboot the image cache, as some images aren’t displaying.

Unfortunately, on this reboot, a full disk scan will need to be performed, which could mean that we don’t have images displaying for around 5 minutes.

I’m going to do the reboot now, and we’ll keep you posted as to progress.

Thanks, and sorry for any inconvenience,

   Doug.
